what do the poor want ???

el scruggles asks....

--------

scrug's detail
if asked po folks say

"... They want to have something
that can’t be stolen,
a place to live
that can’t be stolen
and the opportunity,
from time to time,
to strip pompous technocrats naked,
cover them in ham glaze
and chase them down the street
with barbecue forks.
That is, by the way,
the only effective cure
for Type A personalities."
-----------------
the big I
comments:

best post i’ve read in years
with two word changes only

from “poor people ” to
“shitsky jobholders”

-----------------

scrugs quite astutely counters...

"Being poor
is more jobwork than just about anything else"
except being a mother
as well as being poor"
he adds

"Digressing,
I think professional philanthropy
is now being gifted
with an influx of Type A
neoliberal cranks
who couldn’t make the grade
in misanthropic finance"

-----------------
me back on part two :

" they’re in the unions too
goo goo
go gos
all for
the lowly jobblers

caring help
is our only god
and
andy stern is our prophet

------------
addendum: on distinction between wage job
and household production:

i think my clever reason
for sub-ing jobster for poor folk
is
the precise context here in amerika

ie
the historical class structure interval
and what it signals

looked at from
the side of
who what and how and how much
society produces

versus
who what and how and how much
society consumes

in say india these two functions can be merged

more households then not
as households
still do both
as one unit
produce and consume

they still have their p/c integerity
despite rent and tax and interest rackings
that immiserated these
“independent toilers ”

because of this p/c integrity

we can only call them poor oppressed exploited ” whole people ”

subsiding as they subsist

still not ripped untimely
from mother natures problematic umbilical cord

musical question:

swimming in a hick ethos
now flowing with natural and social poisons
is it better to
stay and go down
on the potato patch
or
flee to the city doom
for a vicious jobster fate ????

the choice most often is both
and results in neither alot
and then the choice itself
dissolves too

and well...

welcome to oz
folks

jobblers gobblers and ghouls

-----------

after thoughts:

the use of
the word poor
- an un split pb notion -
is populist speak
with all its unifying trans class broad front virtues and vices

as a populist pleb insiting rabble rouser
my gut always twists when folks want the poor
to get less poor not the rich get less rich

lower orders take

that's my mode

not higher orders give

scruggles here arrives at the same point
on the issue of experts
and the gpcr type
periodic

"merit"
apex topple
a virtual skinning
an updated jaquery
