It's pretty clear
they're not interested in advancing policy or ideology.
They're interested in advancing
a team that has an ideological "look and feel",
that will produce enough policy-related content
to keep that "look and feel".
By doing that,
they ensure the wars
and immiseration are just a question of timing and degree,
with greater degrees
always on the horizon,
always on the table
for discussion
as though they were reasonable,
and
there's no effective institutional resistance to them.They need some discipline,
Mr. Paine!
