Clinics, not Health Insurance

Pinky confidently predicts universal health care for US within a decade -- sounds truthy to me. Also, that unions should reject benefit struggles. What solution in the meantime?

Maybe the best is to start advocating for low-cost clinics in relevant neighborhoods, if not by unions per se, than by community organizations. I think this offers the best of both worlds: responsiveness to real needs of workers, de-investment in the clusterfuck of upward-spiraling health-care costs.
