New Technology: trike trailer

This item (trike + trailer) replaces a handtruck for transporting food from kitchen to cart.

I've used it for three nights so far. I added a milk crate at the far rear on the second run -- for stacking with soda, water and ice. So far it is performing commendably...

Whitman's New York

Whitman's New York

reading in the bookstore the other day...

City of Orgies

City of orgies, walks and joys,
City whom that I have lived and sung in your midst will one
day make you illustrious
Not the pageant of you, not your shifting tableaus, your
spectacles, repay me,
Not the interminable rows of your houses, nor the ships at
the wharves
Nor the processions in the streets, nor the bright windows with
goods in them,
Nor to converse with learn'd persons, or bear my share in the
soiree or feast;
Not those, but as I pass O Manhattan, your frequent and swift
flash of eyes offering me love,
Offering response to my own--these repay me,
Lovers, continual lovers, only repay me.

-----
Not unfamiliar to this feeling, yet also it
can become a burden
if pressed

the passage of others a testament to something
denied (not offered)
lost (not found)

i have known this too

how light are the particles that thus keep the poet aloft!

this is not a feeling to be pressed (?)
not a feeling to carry weight (?)
not a feeling to change the world (?)
it is as is -- and nothing more?

fall preview

connection btwn short term and long term motivations

i once thought "pride" might bridge the gap

-------

does pride offer linkage between

time and place?

living labor time?

--------

"east village workers association"

try to raise minimum wages
and working standards

on a neighborhood basis

"up your hood"

there are a hundred and one
small city jobs that cannot
possibly be organized in a
"shop by shop" manner

here the catch:

....

----------

also:

"feelings: fact or fiction"

more at eleven...

------

professionalism vs. the monopoly of labor

(sounds grand, don't it?)

plus

who are the
"professional job holders"?

--------

and from
the red chef's table:

"the burger gun"

"food pill"

and

"vat-fed vegans"

-----------

well that's the roll-out
let's see if I can live up ;)

can't can you feel the excitement?

(oh yeah and
maybe I'll try to get the
damn site working properly,
comments and all)
