Spring is sprung

The first day of spring. Also the first day we started dumping hundreds of tons of ordinance on Baghdad for no good reason at all.

The flag-sucking warpigs have gotten their way--"Shock and Awe" is upon us. A reel of mpeg video plays over and over on all the stations, showing bomb after bomb exploding over the rooftops, the sky filling with smoke and cinders. No one is reporting on what is hit, the reporters don't seem to give a fuck.

Last night, in a moment of naive optimism, I actually believed this day might not come. There was talk that "Shock and Awe" would only be deployed "if necessary," and I was hoping for the best.

We will live to regret this day.
