            becomes ever 
                      more clearly
               a matter of
            union  heights and  unorged valleys

various levelers
 finally  come along 
 and  plow 
    some particular
          mountain top 
    back down 
   into the valley bottom below 

faster or slower 
    sooner or later 

thats the pattern 
uneven development

    drastic reversal
