the rahm file

nothing dull 'bout rahm

I do remember talking to presidential aide Rahm Emmanuel, who dipped his voice as though prepared to deliver a mighty secret and said, “Off the record, the president has told his staff to do the right thing for the American people.” Emmanuel went on to be elected to Congress, demonstrating the value in politics of a mastery of such brown-nosing.

Rahm Emmanuel, current congressman from Illinois, staunch supporter of Israel,
ex-Mossad agent and suspected by many to be "Mega", the former Mossad mole in .
19Now we see why Michael Moore is a shill for the Zionists.Guess Who Michael Moore’s Agent Is?
Rahm Emmanuel, former Clinton adviser, current congressman from
Illinois, staunch supporter of Israel, and suspected by many of being “Mega”, the Mossad mole in the Clinton White House, has a brother, Ari Emmanuel, who just happens to be Michael Moore’s agent.

when Heilemann went to Emmanuel and asked him what the plan is, Rahm responded: “We’re going to talk about cronyism, corruption, and abuse of power and how it ties to everything that’s gone wrong.

In fact, Emmanuel is already on track to be a huge power in the U.S. House. The national contacts he acquired in Washington, especially in the Jewish community, helped fund his congressional bid. Democrats expect that he will take over as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in his second term (after 2004), and raise truckloads of money. Emmanuel has already been promised a slot on the key House Ways and Means Committee, the tax-writing body that Rostenkowski chaired for 14 years (1981-94). With that perch, Emmanuel can raise prodigious sums for himself and for the Democrats from corporate special interests

like Emmanuel, and not just because I recently read that he was the real-life model for the character of The West Wing's Josh Lyman. Emmanuel is what Klein calls a "happy warrior," i.e., he's an enthusiastic guy who revels in what he does and is willing to fight for what he believes in.

He is also the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), the organization responsible for getting more Democrats elected to Congress (Chuck Schumer is his counterpart for the Senate).

Here are five issues that Emmanuel is focusing on for the mid-term elections next year:

Expand support for higher education.
"Make college as universal in the 21st century as high school was in the 20th"; three out of four jobs in the new, high-tech economy require two years or more of higher education.

Create a National Institute of Science and Engineering, like the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Funding for the nih has quadrupled since the 1980s, from $7 billion to $28 billion. "That's why we lead in pharmaceuticals and medical technology." Funding for science has been stagnant—about $5 billion—during that period. "I'd quadruple it and concentrate on nanotechnology, broadband and energy."

Promote energy independence.
Reduce foreign oil by 50% in 10 years. Create a hybrid economy. Use government contracts and tax incentives to boost solar and wind power.

Provide health care vouchers.
"I'm not afraid of vouchers"—for use in the health insurance system that covers federal employees. Basic coverage, nothing fancy.

Organize a bipartisan summit on the budget.
Balance it. Everything on the table—loopholes, pork, Bush tax cuts.

"Congress has an obligation to hold a standard. We have given the president a blank check. It's been a rubber-stamp Congress that sent troops in there without Kevlar vests, without Humvees. We have to have a standard in which Iraq and the administration measure up over the two years, and at that point we'll evaluate where we are"
One of the most interesting Jews from the Israeli point of view, who has rarely been exposed to view until now, is Rahm Emmanuel, Clinton's senior adviser in charge of coordinating special projects in the White House. His office is located next to the famous Oval Office.

Rahm won extra points from his boss last week, when he succeeded in passing a law for combatting crime. He has become an expert at communicating with Congress and has already had many successes, the most prominent of which was the ratification of NAFTA.

Now he is immersed in the passing of the health bill. Last Thursday his office was in shambles and he strode around it like a typical Sabra, simultaneously conducting a lively conversation with me, studying the protocols of the debate being held at the time by the Senate, and watching the report of Wolf Blitzer (also a Jew) on CNN and being updated by his secretary and three aides on the positions of the senators regarding the health bill

It appears that Moore's literary agent is the brother of Clintonista Rahm Emmanuel, a chap named Ari Emmanuel.

Indyk's White House colleague, political adviser Rahm Emmanuel,
whose office is just steps from President Bill Clinton's, also got his
start in AIPAC ranks more than a decade ago as a student volunteer
imported to southern Illinois to work against then-Republican
Representative Paul Findley....
