oil price spill

wanna cut up that pump price

into who gets what??

try this article from the washpost:

============================================

"When the average price
of a gallon of regular gasoline
 peaked at $3.07 recently
 it was partly because
the nation's refineries
were getting an estimated
  dollar
on each gallon sold"

 "That was more than
three times
 the amount they earned
when regular unleaded
was selling for
  $1.87"

"The companies that pump oil
 from the ground
swept in an additional
 47 cents
 on each gallon
 a 46 percent jump
over the same period"

"If motorists are the big losers
the companies that produce the oil
and turn it into gasoline
are the clear winners."

--------------------------------

so
 here's the tab

cut three ways :

 at a pump price
     of $ 3

refiner $ 1.00

crude producer $ 1.50

every body else
plus taxes $ .50

-------------------------------------
 crude
 $ 1.50 a gallon

so whats cost ????

"For Exxon
domestic
  production runs
at a break even price
      below
   $ 20 per  bar "

 lets say
  about $ .50 a gallon

now you lose about
a third of a gallon in refining

so thats
  requires an upperation
if the pumper gets
                $ 1.50
            per rined gallon

he's getting ~ $ 1.05- $ 1.10
per crude gallon

100% mark up

 nice ......

-------------------------------------

how 'bout the gas station guyz

"don't fuckin blame uz "

  A)
" branded station owners
  pay a non-negotiable price
for their gasoline "

AND

B)

"the last three years
despite large jumps
         in pump prices
the dealers own mark up
over cost of goods
  have held steady
at
      17 or 18 cents per gallon "
-----------------------------------------

 then there's gubmint
        unit priced taxes

           also obviously unchanged

----------------------------------------------------------------
