  as the day for pipedreams  “ignition”
   approached the scenario thickened. 
  newly  impinging interests  forced the  project 
    managers to  add several  complicating “epicycles”to
         the plan.

   and in a second phase  destabilize and seize
   the Iranian province of azerbijan
  “ the turks called it  triangulation
        of  fire kurds turkmen and azeris

   put the scheme before them with 
   ideas about an otherwise rampant kurd
   state suddenly  oil rich and strattling 
     the best possible rival route
    to turkistan’s oil and gas

     these“ peaceful democratic people”
           almost imediately ran  afoul
 of a long simmering  regional  corporate/ nation state
       struggle  over  alternative routes for a trans turkistan 
  oil and gas pipeline system
  the list of players include at least two huge consortia of
   energy companies
 one arab/anglo/american  calling itself 
  some what disingenuously “the have nots”
   and the other a mixed bag of  energy and  trading company
   outfits largely of franco- japanese extraction
    known locally as “ the beautiful losers”
  and playing their own independent hand
 the two  Russian former state owned 
oil monopolies dubbed “ the specters”
 and  even  a fourth the always ravenous
 Turkish government called  “ the six inch wolfman” 
        
    the tug of war between the various rival schemes
 threatened the whole region’s    
    fragile  and always teetering 
 peace balance.......

        acheson:  “ there are tons of reasons 
   sound reasons why back in ‘91
   old bush didnt take out saddam when he 
    could have” 
  “ and one of the very biggest was 
      this whole pipeline bizness
     they say 
      the smell of  untapped  crude

    stopped the 
    armed  intervention from happening

 the project code named first “project hookah” 
   and then as it snowballed “ operation pipedream”  
      the massive inervention  was  originally slated to begin 
with a “barrage of scare stories out of bagdad
   alleging a secret Saddam  plan to remove
     “several million  innocent kurdish herdsmen”
   from their homelands that happened to be right 
 on top of the mosul-kirkuk oil dome”

eventualities  the worse   half of a riven nation
      great  nations unlike great mothers

will opt for  halfsies rather then give it all up

 as things stood for centuries  the iranian azeris 
only needed to   cast their eyes north to find their other half
 up  there  under another heavy  thumb

were  back in ‘97 far  less prominent
  but still at  25 million strong
  these oft warring and even more oft  warred apon
 peoples deserve some sort of  stand up nation award 
  for honorable effort ofcourse not success
 a world class- woe be gone-  wait until next year peoples
  friendless and stalwert 
 spread over  contiguous remote  corners
 of four entirely  different  and yet
 similarly kurd  hostile
states
  the kurds
 then as now the self styled worlds largest 
stateless nation
 the brooklyn dodgers of the captive nation league 
  the Poland of the twenty first century
  a peoples that in little more then ten years 
were the object of liquidation fantasies
 in at least tfive  capitols
   and liqudation facts
 in at least two
    episodes

  the cats paw of soviet great games
  the unwanted sobs of the hand wringers
and
 last but not least the unfortunate 
  prime ashole innocent bystanders
 in a major oil strike
  that happened
  right under them  
 they now know 
 the agony any peoples unfortunate 
enough to be  living on oil  rich land
  and not having the muscle
to protect it for themselves

 victims of  both 
  oil and genocide 
each alone an almost 
     irresistible temptation 
   to multitude of   megalomaniac schemers  
  out there.

for siding with the iranian enemy during his war with them

 these same kurds had taken yet another
 beating for rising up at uncle George’s instigation
 the Kuwait fiasco another saddam fool oil grab

 the kurds at first had star billing 
 in this back story without a front
  until the Turkish government weighed in
  the initial plan called for an emergency 
  air and land operation to prevent saddam 
from finishing off the kurds once and for all

 the genecide gambit 


 the plan called for an initial 
 armed emergency rescue
operation dropped directly
 into the kurd’s  mountainous 
 homeland areas
 then after sufficient force build up
 and some savy saddam provoking  petulence
  a take over of the oil provences
 to the imediate  south
ie mosul  kirkuk and vicinity
 and the us recognition of the newly minted 
republic of kurdistan

saved a peaceful innocent and brave people

one pipe line  thru pakistan
and afganistan

 into turkmenistan

 into tadjikistan

 to kazakstan

the second big line
was the struggle line
with a russian
varient and an anglo-saudi-american
or A.S,A. variant 
the russian one  would run 
  from turkmenistan north west 
thru russian  astrakan to the black sea 

the A.S.A. line  
  across the caspian to baku and then
thru georgia to the  turkish coast

 and to  all this the white house braintrust
 would add yet another from the caspian
 thru liberated azerian persia into
 the new state of kurdistan

 the kurds are still surrounded
  to the south east and west
  easy were goina have em  bust out to the sea 
   across northern syria  the whole way 
just  skirtin under  turkey’s southern border
 they got kurds there too  in syria

    the tug of war between the various rival schemes
 threatened the whole region’s    
    fragile  and always tettering  peace balance
