human capital vs human commodity

   confusions abound over
 the benefits of skill upgrades

 and profiteers
couldn't be happier
 about it

they say
 lets
call it
a capitalization

thats it
 call it
huuuman capital

all the better to ....

===================

what a cottage industry !

the last great one

  see
all those little households
 out there
most of em
are producing
 one and only one
type of
 marketable product

  laboring capacity

 they're building it
on their own time
and with
 their own resources
so to speak
and then
making it
available for sale
     so many
 workable hours
     per week
             per year
                        per life time
=====================

we're told
ad nauseum

that
this is indeed
the greatest beauty
 of our system

the liberty
 of all our peoples
to produce
themselves
as whomever
 their time and effort
permitts
and
 sell themselves
if they can
as much as
 they want
for as long as
 they want
to whom ever
 they want

and
  indeed
they do

build and sell
build and sell

 by the millions
 apon millions

each job day
they pour forth
from their modest abodes

to sell themselves

and
each one
we're assured
 gets a fair price
for thatunique piece
 of valuable
 huuuman kapital
that is themselves

=================

enough bafoonary!

and to get
more
to the point

let me suggest to you
that
when it comes
 to
 manpower
management

when it cmes
to
 husbanding
  that most un-natural
 of
natural resources

when it comes
to
the care
 and
development
of our
very own
 human
productive capacity

we americans
seem all too often
to forget

most of uz
when it comes down to
the specifics
end up seling
ourselves
by the hour
to profiteers

yes most of us
are
self sold
on job markets
as commodities

maybe
not just like
 grapes and logs

 or pony rides even

but more like that

then like
say
 a picasso
 drawing

face it folks most of us
are hardly unique
 jobholding-wise

whats more
 mostly
we sell ourselves
for use
 in making
other commodities

 stuff or services
that themselves
 are to be sold

  we sell ourselves
 as a commodity

but we
are bought by
 profiteers
with capital
as capital
and
 our laboring capacity
 is put to tasks
to return a profit
on capital

a return above cost
to the capitalist
who hired
our capacity
for this purpose
alone

noto bene pals

our sale
of our selves
does not
return a profit
to uz
the owner
of that capacity

we only get
what we're entitled to

the going rate
for that capacity

i.e. its market price

if we call
 that a profitable deal
 for ourselves
well fine
but we ain't usin'
 the word profit
the same way
a capitalist would

 we
 sell ourselves
  to live

the profiteer
 buys uz to profit

its simple really

and
 yet the confusion
about
 this
 persists

and of course
its a joyous confusion

 if you happen
to be a profiteer

cause he can say

" see you too are a capitalist "

===================
and heres where
this confusion
can take us:

public purse
and public credit
  policy
too often
with the best of intentions
assumes
unlikely
results

 behind many public measures
to aid the wagery of this land
is the asuumption
that the reward
for any upgraded
goes to the possessor
of that upgraded capacity

   not necessarily so

  laboring power
can be enhanced
and
 the benefit
can and to a large degree will
end up
captured by a profiteer

not the enskilled laborer
